RP: Remove the reverse grip for Clerics

Post by Shas_ »

Dual wield without reverse grip for Clerics.

What is this about?
-> How to enjoy dual wieldig with ''both weapons facing forward'':

Female Mathosians, Eth and Dwarves are hard locked in holding two melee weapons in a reverse grip. There is no real way to remove this and have both blades/ maces etc face forward.

However, there is a little trick to make your RP more enjoyable if you fed up the mandatory reverse grip:

Some effects are meant to make your weapons glow when active. However this is quite inconsistent: Some Swords only glow at one spot, some glow over the full blade and it also affects totems in different ways.

-> Some totems (NOT ALL) will spawn a glow effect meant for swords. This makes you ''hold a halo weapon'' in the left hand which is facing forward.

On a closer look, it surely is but a buged glow effect; but on everyday gameplay, it changes your animations to a 1h (+shield/ totem) animation while looking like you are holding two forward facing, glowing weapons.

Shaman's 61 Furious Assault already provides a feint glow out the box.
Druid's 0 Legendary Fervent Strike with it's 1 minute buff will give a much more visible glow and make this trick truly RP ready.
Other passive effects like -> Legendary Icy Blow (some more blue glow) only further improve the illusion.

Only a few totems have this fx bug that gives you an offhand blade.

-> This works on low graphics. However Spell Opacity (100 is best) will affect how well you can see your glows.

There are ways to cheese this by buffing up with two swords and then switching totems but simply using a totem that supports this effet is a more relyable approach.
-> I did not test Dwarves, all totems or all spells in the game. I am simply using the totem ''Glowing Empyreal Tomb'' since it's model and color are not sticking out and distract from the halo weapon. Mage Harbinger's Charged Blade has an effect which is compareable but not dense enough to look as good.

Random Video where you can see the 1h animation with the halo weapon in action:

-> You will get your Cleric totem in TDNM from Beligosh. Even a Mage preserver totem is already better for Shaman than the 2h.

I may add a list of totems that support it. Until then, feel free to share your testing results.
