I'm on Hughsnet satellite internet and have limited broadband so I turn off internet when I'm not using it. Not long after Rift's launcher update, I started getting this little notification "Cannot complete download" something something. It would pop up in the middle of whatever I was doing, whether it was an offline game, bookwork, whatever. I couldn't figure out where is it was coming from. Finally after several days of that I realized that even though I was quitting the game and closing the launcher, the launcher itself was staying active in the background. It has to be manually closed in that little corner of the taskbar thingy.
But it begs one to wonder, just what is it they are downloading when I'm not playing their game?
